History

50 years' experience in furniture production

Our tradition originated with Giuseppe Bruscoli, family founder and a skilled woodworker who started his business in the early decades of the 20th Century.
Passed down from generation to generation, Giuseppe’s legacy was taken up by his children, who grew the family workshop and in 1959 founded Fratelli Bruscoli, a company specialising in the production of bedroom furniture, employing 125 people, including 40 highly skilled carpenters.

1968

Antonio Bruscoli drew on his thirty years of experience to invest in his potential, founded IMAB Mobili e Prefabbricati S.r.l. (Industria Mobili Antonio Bruscoli) at Fermignano, and began to produce prefabricated furniture in a plant of 2,000 m2.

1970/1980

When his talented, far-sighted son Gianfranco joined the business, Antonio began to invest in technology and to supply the leading companies in the flourishing Pesaro furniture district. The plant expanded to 10,000 m2, employing a workforce of 25.

1987

Realising that the growth prospects for a subcontractor business were limited, Gianfranco founded Gamma Industry S.r.l. and began to produce furniture, combining the craft know-how handed down by his forefathers with the technology IMAB had acquired over the years.

1993

Giuseppe Rossi, a man with a wealth of experience and a brilliant sales manager, joined the company, marking the start of a very successful association and business partnership with the Bruscoli family. The fast-growing key market was the export market.

1995/1999

The company began to win major shares of the Italian market, with the launch of the Gamma Italia brand for modern products, Gamma Stile for classical products and ArmadiOne for wardrobe systems.

2000

At the beginning of the year 2000, Gamma Industry and IMAB counted plants of 31,500 m2 and a workforce of 180 employees. This year saw the construction of a new facility covering 14,000 m2 and a new plant at Canavaccio, Urbino, accommodating a centralised finished product warehouse over 40,000 m2.

2001

When Gianfranco’s son Alberto joined the business, a marketing and communications department was introduced to the company, strategically supporting the sales network and product development.

2003

IMAB Group S.p.A. was created by the merger of IMAB Mobili e Prefabbricati and Gamma Industry: the new company employed 422 people on sites with buildings covering 100,000 m2.

2006

Mobilmax S.r.l. was founded to supply the major retail chains with entry level bedroom and living room furniture, separate to the products manufactured for other markets.

2007/2008

The product range was expanded with the addition of the RetrĂ² brand for classic lines and Sofficinotti for the upholstered bed programme. Ekin S.r.l. was created for the children’s bedroom furniture market. At the same time, the Oltremodo brand was launched to penetrate the high-end living room and bedroom market.

2009/2016

Kitchen furniture producer Prodomo was acquired. IMAB Group now employed more than 550 people and covered all areas of home furnishing. Mobilmax and Ekin were merged into IMAB Group with a view to offering a complete range of products under the single IMAB Group brand.

2017

IMAB Group currently has a workforce of approximately 800 individuals, working at 10 sites housing 150,000 m2 of floor area and generating a turnover of 140,000,000 euro. In addition to being a manufacturer and distributor of furniture, IMAB Group is also recognised as a company with strong social values, thanks to its deep-rooted commitment to the local community: to schools and nurseries, charities, hospitals and, not least in order of importance, to all the people who contribute to the Group’s success every day.
